Over a late lunch, in the final days of summer, 2007 in St. Louis, Missouri, Rich and Kim had a ‘flash of inspiration’. Is it possible to provide up to date research with practical implementation strategies to the Dental Community at no cost? Of course it is, we decided, and we set out to make it happen.
After about a week of brainstorming over names we became the PerioFrogz. About 9 months after the inception of PerioFrogz, we launched our first issue on the PennWell publishing company website, perioeducation.com. During the next six months we posted additional issues to the perio.education.com website and by April 2009 we found ourselves front and center on their site and
launching our own… PerioFrogz.com.

The PerioFrogz name came from our speaking engagements. At the end
of the
program the audience is asked to
solve
a “math problem”
Five frogs are sitting on a log, two decide to jump off. How many frogs are left on the log? The answer is not three, it is five… because two decided to jump off and while deciding is important it accomplishes nothing. It is about what we do that makes a difference. Deciding is not enough; jump and join the PerioFrogz!
